To edit formulas is really difficult...
It would be really helpful, if you could edit the formulas like in MS Office.

IMHO the powerful formula editor is a big advantage compared to MS Office. I think it is possible to click a formula in OO.org like it is in MSO, too

The formula editor has one big advantage to MS Office: You don't have to do dozens of mouse-clicks to create a formula, so you are much faster.
I agree that it needs getting used to, but that's no problem if you spend three minutes reading the documentation.

But there is a toolbar to click everything and formula editor as it is (in 2.4) is really good.
