Description

I think that Ubuntu replace the Gnome Desktop in Ibex with a version of Microsoft Bob...it could be called Ubuntu Bob and feature all the award winning functionality and help that is provided by the completely awesome Microsoft Bob.

JUST KIDDING! Okay, seriously...I think that there needs to be a category here on Brainstorm for Humor. Like someone suggesting Microsoft Bob replace the Gnome Desktop in Ibex. Or someone suggesting that Ubuntu should really get into the hardware/software/mobile phone business. Just a place for those of us who want to make a suggestion that we know has no chance of ever being implemented without it negatively affecting our count. The category could be humor and maybe the best at the end of each development cycle receives a free t-shirt or something. I just think that it would be a very fun way to get a good laugh while thinking about serious ways to improve our favorite OS.

I agree, but maybe an option to keep it out of the regular brainstorm ideas and just contained in it's own category?

The problem I see with this is that if it happens, is that the humor section will consume all of brainstorm. And it will artificially jack up peoples ratings.

Its kind of the wrong place for it. I have no problems with humor at Ubuntu forums though

Well what about if the humor section would count to your status?
I know it's a lot of coding, but it would be nice that you could still vote for the funniest ideas, but they wouldn't count.
I wanted to propose idea that I call Ubuntu Brain-dead, it would be a parody site of Ubuntu Brainstorm, where all funny, stupid and weird ideas would be proposed.

And the Ubuntu "Bob" was proposed once before, as in a way that Ubuntu desktop should look like our real desktop or even like "cubicle". Just search for it.
+1, but I'm more for Ubuntu braindead to do this job.

You know what...I am going to agree with everyone...perhaps this is the wrong place for humor. However a parallel site would be funny (there could even be a link from Brainstorm), and honestly needed (we cant always be so serious). "Why so serious?" (Sorry...a little Dark Knight commercial flashback). I personally would visit more to read the funny stuff...because I can always use a little humor break! The mark of any good community is its ability to relax and have fun. That's why there are off topic areas of forums...for things like humor and other things to not always be so serious about things!

You know... it's good to be light but everyone has a different notion of what is funny, and with the lack of nuance in typed text, something edgy might come off as insulting or based in hate (or give someone an excuse to express such things) especially considering not everyone has perfect English (if the joke is even in English)

So if you think that fun ideas should be proposed, but just not on the same site as "serious" ideas then vote for my idea.
