Description
I love the calculator that ships with Ubuntu. I think so many people use it all the time that it might be nice to have it preload many of its libraries into memory so that it loads faster. I want to click the Calculator icon and -bam- it opens with no wait.

Until I saw your post I hadn't actually used that calculator before. But I tried it, and it comes up almost before I can let go of the mouse button I used to click on it, and I'm not using some "uber" system either.
Perhaps you're on legacy hardware?

mine takes between 1 & 2 seconds to load..
im not sure if it could be much faster ! :)

Guys. Try switching your calculator to Scientific mode. As a programmer, I use that version most of all. Now reboot to a clean system, wait about 15 seconds for everything to load in memory after you see your desktop, and then click the icon. You'll see an hour glass for about 3 seconds and then it opens. Look, people want a calculator pretty fast, and not have to wait 3 seconds. They want to click, bam, and it opens. Besides, when I want to impress someone with Ubuntu, among many other things they do, they often click the Calculator to see how slow the OS is. On Windows this thing pops on in less than a second, so why not the Ubuntu OS?

Maybe you should clarify exactly what in you mean in your description. People on this site have an irrational habit of modding down based on just the title and current vote count.

Maybe the default calculator is too slow. Opening Galculator is instantaneous for me...
