#2718 idea is to have a hardware approved logo for computer hardware manufacturers.

This idea is ANY Product made by a supportive company, to be released in an Ubuntu Range - spread the name, % to Ubuntu, not just mugs and tshirts.
It is Not about Ubuntu endorsing a product as being suitable for use in Ubuntu.
It Is about companies and manufacturers and crafts persons endorsing Ubuntu as being worthy of their recognition in a tributary range of special edition products.

If you are a business, designer or manufacturer, Do you have products that you would like to sell a range of with Ubuntu branding or special editions??

Any company or business that is using Ubuntu, may be interested in branding a line of products with Ubuntu, and sending a % to Canonical/Ubuntu/some project developers.

Imagine - the Christmas range of Ubuntu Teddy Bears, Motorcycle Racer enjoys speed with Ubuntu range of helmets, Ubuntu range of jackets and leggings keep skiers warm, see the future clearer with Ubuntu range of sunglasses.

Events promotion in partnership with Ubuntu - fruit juice, water, sun hats, bags, pens.

Companies would need to approach Ubuntu for the use of logo, and meeting of conditions to be satisfied (more conditions if product endorsements are to be made).

Same approach as for Tshirts and Mugs, but no longer the need for running the merchandising in-house. Just set up the deal, and reap the rewards.
Financial support, for Free Operating System, by companies that are very happy to help an OS that has helped them (valuably).

Maybe there are even more imaginative ways that users of Ubuntu in commerce could (offer) help.
It is handy to have an easy way for them to make an approach through the web site (or OS menu system).
