it would relly be cool if i could mount .iso files on a virtual drive in ubuntu:P

gmountiso already does that:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/gmountiso

and iat can convert most CD/DVD images formats to ISO.

@Auzy: as far as ISO images is concern, so can ubuntu (and any other linux that supports "mount -t iso9660|udf").
