The capability of processors and memory has grown to such an extent that some portion of Ubuntu can be embedded into the mother boards. Items like all hard ware drivers, Ethernet, a browser can very well fit inside a mother board. So the powered On, the mother board will be ready to use within few seconds, if not minute.

Under Screensaver->Advanced[tab]->Display Power Management.
If quick power-off in blank only mode is checked, then it makes more sense to also power-off the monitor in situation where: in a locked state and password timer expires.
This makes ubuntu appear more congruent with settings and becomes more laptop battery friendly since monitor will be kept off after timer expires.

Right now there is no way to watch easily the level of ink remaining in the printer. One of the things I like about Ubuntu is that I have one software to administrate all the printers, which works perfectly except for the fact that there is no easy way to check how much ink is remaining unless you install the propietary solution for that, if there is one.

Ubuntu needs a way to install onto non-rooted Android phones, simply by installing an app from Google Play.
There was a lot of fuss about Ubuntu on Android, and there's lot of text here: http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android it mostly advertises Ubuntu to cellphone manufacturers, but it misses one point - those guys are driven by money and business, and they are not interested in anything that does not show immediate profits (even if that's something as simple as rooting your device and unpacking tarfile). So, Ubuntu needs an app, a simple app that non-techies can install on a phone with a single click, and it needs to get some resonance among users (1 million downloads would do). Only then manufacturers will recognize Ubuntu as a market trend and a business opportunity, and will possibly make dual-boot phones, because Ubuntu support will bring immediate profit in their eyes.
There are already several Ubuntu installers for rooted phones, they are not insanely popular though, I guess because of the root requirement.

I am always working on my computer and miss SMS, I have my phone on my desk by my attention is on my computer. I would love to have an app with message menu integration that when I plug my phone in my computer presents notification and alows me to receive and respond to the text messages
The idea came from watching the ubuntu for android promos, there is a big difference though, we need to have some way to pass the info from the phone to the pc. either bluetooth, or usb.

Today I accidentally opened disk utility and found out that my HDD has bad sectors and big amount of IO errors. It would be nice if Ubuntu tell me bad news in time when it happens and write something in logs. Because this information is very important for me and now I even don't know when first bad block has appeared.
Jockey was a good thing when there were no Software Center, but now it should be integrated to the software center, as it should be the only place to manage packages for new users.
Developer comments
Choosing drivers is a type of configuration. Whether choosing a driver involves downloading it first is relatively unimportant, so Ubuntu Software Center isn’t really the appropriate place for this configuration. Instead, Jockey has been merged into Software Sources, which will be renamed to cover this. —mpt, 2013-02-26
