Slow Multitasking with multiple opened app
Written by drasking the 7 Mar 13 at 05:41. Related project: Unity. New
I do a lot of random stuff randomly (when im bored), usually im reading some blogs, Mangas, Anime stuff, shopping on internet, wikipedia, research (programing stuff), youtube, etc... all this using chrome or firefox, i know there are tabs options but i like to open a new windows for related stuff since from there i can open tabs for those stuff(example: im on the shopping windows then i open multiple tabs of the stuff i like or youtube with multiples videos i wanna see opened as tabs), my computer can handle this and more, the problem is when i have 10 or so+ windows opened and plus android development ide + Gambas ide + c++ eclipse ide + VLC player and other app opened (i hate the time wasted looking for the app and the loading time so i maintain them opened even if im not using them), it takes me way too much time navigating every opened app from the taskbar from ubuntu unity since unity only show the app image (i need to open each firefox or chrome windows to find the right stuff im looking for since unity only show the app image and not some description).

Solution #2: Let Tabs die
Written by jGleitz the 3 Apr 13 at 20:05.
This article: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/04/why-tabs-must-die described my very feelings about navigation in any OS. I think it to be absolutely true. The navigation issue described here is as well due the fact that multible Firefox-Windows that have mutliple Tabs opened all look the same.

The OS should be the only instance to manage content. Therfore, tabs shall die. Unity provides very useful posibilities to manage windows, but they are useless as soon as it comes to tabs. Because Unity has no chance to show what content a window has, as soon as it is tabbed.
Once that has happened, things will become easier. I think that simple improvements of the current spread feature, like displaying more information on hover, will do the trick.
