Speed up 2D
Written by Xmister the 3 Mar 08 at 15:21. Global category: Graphics. Not an idea
Speed up the 2D rendering, because e.g. every browser scrolls very slow on a page with a lot of graphical things(divs, transparents etc.)

Written by ltarlee the 31 Mar 09 at 13:53. Related project: GIMP Image Editor. Won't implement
the problem is that we are not able to impose the images of diffrent formats on the desktop

My aim is that image of any format can be placed on desktop.

Solution #1: conversion of format
Written by ltarlee the 31 Mar 09 at 13:53.
There should be a software which can convert the image to the format which is suitable for desktop and then that image can be easily placed and one more solution could be the support of more images

I'm bored with dual-screen on GNU/Linux, it really has to have a graphic configuration, and better features.
I would like to move windows from a screen to another, but when I maximize I need it to be in a single screen.

Further work on Intel Driver   forum
Written by eggplant37 the 29 Feb 08 at 11:07. Global category: Graphics. Not an idea
I've one of the Dell Inspiron 1420n laptops with Ubuntu factory installed that came with the Intel X3100/GM965 video integrated on the motherboard. I cannot afford to simply toss this aside and buy a brand new machine. What I'd love to see is more work done to improve the xorg Intel video to support this chip and actually be able to play some games on it, namely World of Warcraft. I know that if I were to reformat the drive on it and install Windows XP, the thing would scream on Warcraft. Why can't the xorg Intel driver support the same performance on this chipset?

Developer comments
If I understand this brainstorm item, it is encouraging we "Reduce quantity of bugs with Intel driver, especially on Dell hardware." As others have already mentioned, this is better done through the bug tracker.

Indeed, I myself use a 1420n as my daily development laptop (along with other Dell hardware I test on regularly), and so bugs on 1420n are huge priority for me to work on too!

32-bit color for display settings
Written by pyrates the 6 May 08 at 07:10. Global category: Graphics. New
Currently you can only select 16-bit or 24-bit color but not 32-bit color. Now I know that lcd displays can only support up to 24-bit color, even though video cards have been able to support 32-bit color for quite sometime. But I think its better to let the lcd display to dither the 32-bit color down to 24-bit color. It definitely looks better when playing back 1080p HD Video in Windows since it is in 32-bit. But it looks terrible when playing back the same 1080p HD Video in Ubuntu since it is outputting 24-bit color directly from the video card instead of outputting 32-bit color directly from the video card and letting the lcd display dither the color down to 24-bit.

Custom Emoticon Manager
Written by _michael the 8 May 08 at 21:41. Global category: Graphics. New
Basically, there should be a simple way to add and manage emoticons in Pidgin (GNOME / Ubuntu) and Kopete (KDE / Kubuntu) instant messengers.

One should be able to simply click on an emoticon used in a conversation to quickly add it.
