Hello

Imagine in a house or a company with two or more pc's. One (the server) is a Dual core, x3, x4, whatever and the others (clients) are an old machine.

The idea is give at login screen the possibility to login the user of the old machine to the faster machine and use the faster resources of the server.

Of course, that server should be configured adding users, deny, remember options. But I dont if it should be at firewall or the users panel or parcially both.

Thanks

Written by sandrex the 13 Jan 09 at 04:35.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #17242 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

Solution #2: LTSP
Written by andruk the 15 Jan 09 at 11:00.
Semiauto-configuration of an LTSP server and client. LTSP is the Linux Terminal Server Project, and makes it easier to get thin clients up and running. Thin clients are computers that run the majority of applications on a serparate machine; in this case, the server.
