Right now, my top panel is very empty. There's a lot of screen real estate that remains unused. And you know what I'd expect there?

A bar.
Something to type in.

And we already have that: the deskbar applet. However, the actual bar only pops up after clicking it.
That's of course ok if you want to save space, but there definitely should be an option to integrate the whole thing in the taskbar like the "dictionary" and "address" applets do.
