OSS groupware integration with evolution
Written by Aceler the 3 Nov 10 at 13:32. New
Evolution can be easilly integrated with (at least) two groupware systems — the Google Mail and Microsoft™ Exchange™.

It's a shame, that if I want to integrate Evolution with some Open-source groupware systems, like Zimbra or Kolab, I need a lot of work to do, while proprietary Exchange server has it's own connector.

Solution #1: Create a special connectors for popular OSS groupware
Written by Aceler the 3 Nov 10 at 13:32.
Create a modules for Evolution mail and calendar to simplify the setup process for the popular open-source groupware systems, like zimbra, OBM, zafara, Kolab and so on.

There are several OSS groupware suits in Ubuntu repository — let's start with them.

Better ability to select correct language in mail and i.m. apps
Written by eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the 1 Mar 10 at 14:22. New
I write a lot of mails and instant messages in three languages. Almost every time I have to select the right language for the spell checker. This shouldn't be necessary.

I use Thunderbird for mail, and Psi and Pidgin for instant messaging.

(Actually it have annoyed me for years on my mobile phone)

Solution #1: Per contact langauage settings in mail and im apps
Written by eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the 1 Mar 10 at 14:22.
When I make a new message, I want the application to select the language on base of:

1. A per-contact language setting.
2. Guess from e-mail address tld.
3. Guess from earlier conversations.

Solution #2: Be able to activate several language checkers
Written by Eldmannen the 19 Mar 10 at 02:00.
I often mix several languages while typing messages to people, or use loan words from other languages.

Example, "that sucks, jag håller inte med" or "yeah right, skulle inte tro det va".

"That is some gratuitous usage of ad hominem and what you just did was a faux pas".

Solution #3: Optional per contact spell checker language (but no guessing as in #1)
Written by alvevind the 23 Mar 10 at 21:44.
Have an option to manually override the spell checker language for specific contacts.

But do NOT automatically switch and guess the spell checker language based on recipient's e-mail address.
E.g. my friend Chang lives in China and has an e-mail that ends with .cn but that does not mean I want to write to him in Chinese!
