openoffice content colour shouldn't follow colour theme
Written by yzarc the 6 Aug 08 at 13:00. Related project: OpenOffice.org Word Processor. New
open office content colour shouldn't follow colour theme.

I believe it's more natural for the officers application the white background since all them come from procedure made on real paper (in the most of the case it's white). But the office apps use the textbox colour for background and also for the letters, and it can give a bad aspect to default documents.

lastest nvidia drives for ibex
Written by yzarc the 28 Jul 08 at 13:29. Global category: Hardware support. Already implemented
work with nvidia to provide the latest nvidia drives on the ibex releasing. There's a large gap between the present version in the hardy and the one released on the nvidia webpage.

menu shouldn't block hotkeys/multimedia keys
Written by yzarc the 27 Jun 08 at 09:46. Global category: Multimedia. Not an idea
open a menu in any program and try to use hotkey like volume+/-, it will not work. It`s just a little usability improvement.

deskbar and rhythmbox integration
Written by yzarc the 22 May 08 at 15:07. Global category: Multimedia. New
I`m suggesting to create a extension for deskbar that permits us to enqueue or play musics from our playlist.

nautilus order by type should consider also the extensions
Written by yzarc the 4 May 08 at 10:24. Global category: Others. New
I know that linux doesn't care about extensions, but it should. when I have some folder with file .h, .c, .cpp, .txt the nautilus see them all as text files and it's not able to order them.

so I'm proposing the nautilus also consider the extensions after real types ordering.

I/O's information columns in the system monitor
Written by yzarc the 5 Mar 08 at 11:24. Global category: System. New
I/O's information columns in the system monitor.
I think it would be useful knowing the IO's behaviour (read, write, delta w, delta r, etc) of each task in my computer by the system monitor.

Solution #2: Let top display 'wa' also per process.
Written by the 26 Feb 09 at 19:36.
Top has the field 'wa' showing the time processes have to wait for disk IO. When this number is high, the computer is slow. It's however not possible to see what process is using the disk.

It would be nice if top shows for each process the 'wa' field.

Solution #3: iotop
Written by EmheMah the 21 Sep 09 at 13:08.
Taken from http://www.debianadmin.com/iotop-simple-top-like-io-monitor.html

apt-get install iotop

iotop needs the CONFIG_TASK_DELAY_ACCT and CONFIG_TASK_IO_ACCOUNTING options enabled in the kernel; in Debian stock kernels, that’s already the case.

Worked for me with Jaunty
