Solution #1: Try to add a picture of user in stable version of Ubuntu 12.10
Written by yogeshsehgal99 the 14 Sep 12 at 18:48.
As the picture makes the login screen more attractive and makes the user feel it could be easy like windows!
This problem is reported by many of the Ubuntu users on net
Add the picture in login screen to promote open source

Solution #2: In fact i would like a user-selected song/video to be playing on login window
Written by kundan.thakur the 6 Oct 12 at 06:38.
sometimes we just start the pc and go off in the kitchen to bring our cup of coffee so if a song or video plays in the background until login takes place that will be a good addition to ubuntu. of course it must be user selected .
Or may be news from web in the background of the login window.
its asking too much i know

Freeze other users apps when not active
Written by ways the 19 Sep 12 at 20:14. Global category: System. New
Situation:
I share a pretty new laptop (Core i3, 4GB RAM, SSD) with another person. We're both logged in, but have separate, logged in, accounts.

Problem:
When I use the laptop her firefox processes (with flash and all) use a lot of system resources. Especially when I'm on battery and let laptop-mode-tools lower my systems performance things can get quite sluggish.

Solution #1: Freeze other users

Allow the system to freeze apps by other non-active (screen is locked) users. This should be optional, and not done on servers.
