Drop the Human icon theme in favor for Faenza Icon theme
Written by Mr_Arrow the 25 Aug 10 at 12:24. Global category: Graphics. New
As the title says. Since Ubuntu changed color theme from orange/brown to lilac the icons should not be orange anymore. The Faenza Icons are much nicer and looks way more modern.

Solution #2: Make Human icon set in more colours.

It's pretty simple, just palette-swap Human orange icon set and make a few variants, especially one to lilac default desktop. So, while maintaining Ubuntu visual identity, they are more adequate to the new Ubuntu colours.

[BTW, make both orange "old" icons and the "new" icons disponible to the user.]

Solution #4: Redraw icons in a 2.0 modern key for a good look out-of-the-box

People using computer is almost 90% unable to "tune" it in any way.. They simply don't want to modify anything, just use their computers which must be good looking out-of-the-box.

See Vista/Seven semi-transparent icons, or OSX steely icons.. They're awesome.

Ubuntu default icons are pretty "old-school".. Sometimes I still fell in 90's. I'm following Ubuntu since 2007 and I've seen HUGE steps forward in simplicity and stability but still a step backward the others in its out-of-the-box gui flavour.
