GUI for ufw (Uncomplicated Firewall)
Written by gabim the 28 Feb 08 at 14:43. Global category: Internet & Networking. Implemented
It would be useful to create a graphical user interface for the new ufw (Uncomplicated Firewall) in Ubuntu. Would be useful to make every new release with an enabled firewall by default and with this graphical firewall utility also.

Gufw, a graphical frontend for ufw, is now on the Intrepid repository!

Include GUFW as a GUI firewall frontend.
Written by rsingh the 1 Jul 08 at 11:06. Global category: Internet & Networking. Already implemented
One of the things included in Hardy was ufw (Uncomplicated firewall wall), but everything has to be done via CLI. There is a very nice GUI frontend being developed for it and it would be nice if it is bundled as a default package.

Cannon game for Edubuntu   forum
Written by Eldmannen the 12 Sep 08 at 19:16. Related project: Edubuntu. New
This is a game proposal that could be included in Edubuntu, it teaches kids about velocity, angles, gravity, physics, ballistics, external factors, mathematical calculation and estimation, etc in a fun, easy and entertaining way.

You can play versus the computer or against another player.
You both have a cannon each, your goal is to fire a cannon ball that hits the enemy cannon which destroys it, then you win.

To hit the target you have to decide the angle of the cannon and the velocity of the cannon ball. You must use the right angle and velocity to hit the target, else you will miss.

This teaches kids physics by ballistic trajectory of a projectile with variables such as velocity, angle and estimation of where the cannon ball will hit.

You may also need to take into account external factors and put into consideration stuff such as terrain and wind and compensate for this.

To erase .ini trojans from flash Memory without root account.
Written by xnibel the 12 Sep 08 at 19:06. Related project: Nautilus. New
I'm linux instructor and I have get some people change from windows to linux. However when they use a flash memory in windows they get trojans horses and them use to repreduce in read only mode so my new linux users can't erase it with a simple right click.

I thing that no one file should be in read only mode for stickMemory or:

The user should have the posivility to erase any file in flash memory.
