Install without reboot
Written by ximen the 29 Feb 08 at 21:30. Category: Installation. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
I mean? there should be a normal ability to install Ubuntu without LiveCD e.g. from iso or even directory. Generally such ability exists now, but it should be easier and it will be great if there will be appropriate GUI.

A wizard to help new users know their way around ubuntu
Written by verb3k the 29 Feb 08 at 15:58. Category: Installation. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
New users of ubuntu often feel isolated and uncomfortable with ubuntu because they don't know their way around it. Such tasks as software installation and other areas are in dire need of brief introduction.

This should work as follows:

1-Boot the LiveCD

2-You are asked: "Choose your level:
A.Beginner B.Advanced"

3-If you choose "Advanced" you will proceed as usual.

4-If you choose "Beginner" a wizard opens and shows some valuable information like how software is installed in ubuntu and the like.

Add Gparted or some partitioning software by default
Written by sf_007 the 20 Mar 08 at 01:28. Category: Others. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
I it was a great thing to include some partitioning software in the default ubuntu install, Gparted is on the LiveCD, but not after, in the installed system...
I think it is a very useful thing to have something like that by default... Formating pen drives, external HDDs...
