When the mouse pointer is activating a tooltip, the screensaver never comes on (and the monitor doesn't shutdown if you have it configured).
It happens a lot when my daughter is on the computer and doesn't pay attention to where the mouse is when she leaves.

There should be a easy way for end users to add space to /home (or any other partition) by adding a hard drive and following a wizard.
The wizard will give the user options to add the hard drive space to any partition (or break it up and add to multiple partitions, etc.) and be told to reboot to complete the changes.
This will work similarly to a guided partition manager.
The user should not have to understand all the details of LVM to make this work. If, in the future, ZFS gets added to Ubuntu, it can use this wizard as well.

DVD styler is a easy to use DVD authoring application (takes .mpeg and other video files and creates a DVD out of them). It is being actively developed and the project page ( http://www.dvdstyler.de/ ) links to .deb files.
This should be added to multiverse so that it is easier to install. It is much easier to use than Q DVD-Author, which is also in the Ubuntu repository.

Currently, cover art stored in ID3 tags in mp3 files are viewable in amarok. This is not the case, however, if any other .jpg images files are in the same directory.
Use case:
Directory: Music/A/
Files:
Abba - Abba.jpg
Abba - Abba - 01 - Mamma Mia.mp3
Ace Of Base - The Sign - 02 - All That She Wants.mp3
Even if the Ace of Base song has embedded cover art, the "Abba - Abba.jpg" image file is showed while the Ace of Base song is played.

Amarok first start wizard should include mysql/postgresql setup

Won't implement

When amarok starts up the first time, it presents a wizard that asks which database should be used. There are links to setting up mysql and posgresql, but that's it.
Wizards should be set up to hand hold the user into setting up the database to work with amarok.

Allow install from broken CD/DVD.

If the OS figures out that the installation CD is broken (ie: cannot read from a particular sector), it should give the option to download the parts that are unreadable from the internet (it will download the parts of a .iso that are needed, not the complete .iso) and continue the installation (or use of the live CD) seamlessly.
Of course, the CD has to have the kernel and some userland tools readable (such as ftp) and a usable connection to the internet.
If this is done correctly, the amount downloaded could be quite minimal, so long as the CD doesn't have many errors on it.
Another option would be to scan the CD and give an estimation of how much has to be downloaded before the process is begun.
