If you want to install Ubuntu in an LUKS-encrypted drive, you have to use Alternate Install CD. It's an annoyance and it limits the use of one of the most interesting thigs Linux offers.

Not an idea
I often like to use Ubuntu's websites when I'm on untrusted networks (like at coffee shops), but I don't like logging into websites of HTTP and sending my password and session cookies in plaintext.
Launchpad.net does a great job with this, but the rest of Ubuntu's websites should do this as well.
When I'm updating (through aptitude for me, but I'm sure this problem happens whatever you use to update with) then a new grub.cfg is generated several times.
For me today, during one update, this happened three times. It only needs to happen once! It is a time consuming operation.
If you look at the terminal output for this you can see the problem. Look at lines 278, 301 and 361.

Not an idea
Just because you recently opened a file does not mean that you always want those files hanging around. I understand that it's less commonly used but Gnome used to allow you to easily clear recently used files, Unity has no such option on any panel that I can see.
As of now I had to re-login into classic to clear the files (unless I felt like running scripts). Having some middle ground between this scripting solution and being a prominent menu option is desired.
"Most Popular Ideas" is not necessarily the most useful search. It could be that these ideas have been around a long time, so have had more votes.
I would rename the current "Most Popular" to "Most Voted For" and make the "Most Popular" list report the order in (# of votes over time listed). This would allow very recent posts that are getting a lot of votes to appear at the top of the list.
Otherwise, the newer posts seem to slide into oblivion on the "Latest Ideas" search, regardless of actual user interest.
