I was thinking about the impending release of Adept 3 that will be included with Intrepid Ibex. (As far as I know)

The thought that came to me was "What if the Adept Notifier wasn't a systray app? What if it was a Plasmoid instead?" As I thought it out, the idea sounded better and better, and here's why.

Features:
-You have a regular, panel-living notifier with your icons for available updates, etc. (The beauty is that you could put it anywhere on the desktop you want )
-Clicking on the notifier will cause a smallish box to pop up. (Think Device Notifier) This box will list all of the packages that can be upgraded.
-The box will also have a prominent push button at the bottom that will say "Launch Updater" or something to that effect.

Here are some other nice things that could come from such a Plasmoid:
-One less object in the systray, which I personally don't like in general. Systrays tend to be hard to implement correctly, and currently KDE4's systray has it's share of bugs and limitations. (This is somewhat personal opinion, I don't want this to start arguments or nothin'.)
-Systray apps don't get the coolness of being able to do stuff that Plasmoids can. (See features)

Oh, and I can't do mockups worth crap, so I took the Device Notifier box and labeled the visual changes that would be made. Obviously, the Launch updater button wouldn't be inside the white area, etc. The mockup can be found in the ubuntuforums thread.
