better keyboard shortcuts.
Dynamic zoom.
More tools like hand and loupe tool, text select inside
pdf tool.
better printing and print preview.
customizable fonts inside evince, evince should use ubuntu

well so many of people suggested about gimp not use 3 windows.actually i and many i suppose(noobs) get scared when they see 3 windows all around desktop when they open Gimp(although there is a non official port called gimpshop but its outdated and not as good as gimp).
PS(photoshop) is setting web standards great piece of work but gimp too can compete with it.some needed changes:
*****single window.
****compatibility with photoshop filters .8bf filters, more support
****better documentation
**better icons and UI redesign(although i just saw feature planned for gimp next version 2.6) still deserves attention of developers.
**better support for pre defined key in photoshop also can be used in gimp
key combinations(keyboard shortcuts like ctrl+alt etc)
i am huge fan of photo editing software and web design somehow...usability in some software breaks barriers of commercial and free software.

there is similar idea i like it too but what i want to see
integration.usb pen drives right click>>format
***opens menus to format pendrive with
**type of format>>fat etc
**type of format quick or deep
**if possible integration with clamav for virus checking
next its not just formatting usb, external hdd.but make it easier to format even mounted partition>>not through right click but through gui.this should be root accessible only.
***also add entries to gparted for usb and external hdd
i only see mounted partitions in gparted.presently there is no way i can format usb pen drives.
*****lock system drives not to partition, mounted drives.
like /var,/,/swap etc also do warn before formatting fat and
ntfs partitions about loss of data.

Bring Tabs into Gimp

Tabs allows us to quick navigation to files, features, docks, pallete, brushes etc, adding tabs to make it look better than Photoshop, here is a mockup
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GIMP+3?content=49951
Hope developers listen. If there are plenty of Windows docking
inside single window and treating all windows inside on big window is solution.also there should be a property in "Windows" menu like
windows>>reset docks to original location,reset pallete,reset
presets for brushes etc.

children and kids who want to draw something are very
excited in xp,because of paint utility.this offers them
improve drawing skills.A small and tiny application like
MSPAINT,would be great in default installation, note that
there are plenty of alternatives in linux like:
tuxpaint, xfpaint etc.i dont know which is the best,
but a small application would be great, optionally include ping pong like game also.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opengl
Make use openGL to the fullest
*OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) is a standard specification defining a cross-language cross-platform API for writing applications that produce 2D and 3D computer graphics.
*-OpenGL can beat directx, although i dont know technicality
of both but still.Mac uses most of OpenGL in boot, graphics etc.Directx is used by microsoft to render graphics but here is comparision
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_OpenGL_and_Direct3D
and opengl can perform to the level of directx
There was recent talk of uses OpenGL face browser, although i don't know its fate.give a full support, develop opengl based applications.

include codecs in ubuntu cd but disabled by default.

As clearly as that, multimedia codecs should be included
in default installation only installed when user agrees
to Restricted drivers copyrights(most of users still
dont know about what are multimedia copyrights from
windows environment),i mean drivers for playing
MP3,most popular audio and video formats.most of users
agree to install codecs if they dont let them install
Ubuntu JEOS.
if this is not achievable,Make a Deb packages for most
popular codecs(as in xp) for playing these files and
make it available on ubuntu website.its frustrating
to find that i need to download every time i install and
one codecs version doesnt work with all Ubuntu versions
like different codecs for different Ubuntu versions
fawn,gutsy etc.

Totem features required:
*improve playing videos.the skip the scene or seek to new position doesnt work
not with arrow keys nor with mouse.
*improve the interface, nice looking better than wmp 11 and mac os x video players there are lot of good looking applications in windows like
Powerdvd,Divx,Gom player(although its open source),vlc, real player, quick time, jet audio, zoom player etc over 100 and more importantly they all play even flv files, mkv files.even winamp plays videos
*-functionality like vlc but with better interface
*-equalizer support and plugins
*-easy support to install plugins,themes,visualilzations
There are very few players natively available to linux esp gnome.
for kde :kaffine, now dragon player ,kmplayer etc
but for gnome
buggy totem,xine age old
vlc works on all platforms but its interface isnt that good.i applaud linux for
list of audio players like amarok, exaile, song bird, banshee etc

Archive manager should support popular zip,rar formats, redesign interface.

Archive manager make it the best archive manager out there.
Problems already reported by other users like
1)Cant extract files if the files are split into seperate archives like Winrar does, search for part or locate other part on disk should it prompt.
2)Improve support for various popular formats not just tar,bz
to do:RAR,Zip,7z,ACE etc
3)Also should be able to open iso images(too hard winrar does This :(
4)Extract to other place rather than directory in which file is located
5)Report errors if some archive is damaged or unfinished file in archive, corrupt?
Most future proof idea would be to include search for virus before extraction(if some antivirus is installed in system).

Firefox for Ubuntu should be specialized version. It should have more bookmarks to Ubuntu services and official sites like:
*-Ubuntu(already there)
*-Find Answers and Help -Ubuntu forums
*-Video tutorials-screen casts and related websites links
*-File a bug in Launchpad
*-Ubuntu official news and announcements-Fridge
*-Got a Bright idea for Ubuntu(Brainstorm)
*-Official Ubuntu Magazine link to Full circle
*-Know about developers in Ubuntu and Community-Planet Ubuntu
Also add package search in Firefox search as plug in just as Google,Wikipedia.Remove the ebay Plugin. There are some plugins to add these bookmarks but i never used them,
Adding these bookmarks will make life simpler to ubuntuers aka users.

Previously when ubuntu was new it was sending more than 1 cd
but thats ok,i understand too much requesting for free cd.
but it used to send us free stickers when requested more
than 3 cd's(i think),now i doubt i will get any stickers with
1 cd request.so make a checkbox at shipit to request for 2
(atleast) or very least 1 sticker along with current request
now its Hardy, thanks but its upto ubuntu and
canonical to decide.
"I APPRECIATE YOUR FREE SERVICE AND THANKS A BILLON EVEN IF YOU DONT SEND ME STICKER"

method to optimize network through gui

i heard of iptables, used to block/filter some ip's but is there a way that i can optimize my connection by its type.well
in xp,we have tons of application's for this, like tuneup utilities, etc
which optimizes connection setting for browser,default number of simultaneous etc.so i think its time we too have a gui too;
to optimize network for my LAN 10mbps connection.i got this idea because it seems ubuntu doesnt utilize all network speed in update manager/synaptic/add/remove like applications.i have
64kbps with 6-8kbps down speed but it utilizes only 2-4kbps?
****types of network can be:
dial up(64kbps)
broadband(>256kbps)
ADSL
lan(10mbps)
T1
etc
