Sax2 is a powerful tools on open-suse who afford to configure easily xorg.conf, why not make a similar software or try to implant it on ubuntu.

There is an 'autohide' option for panels.
However, it is painfully slow.
You have to wait like a whole second, for it to roll down.

I propose we speed it up, so it becomes more quicker and responsive, and so you have to wait less.

TTY : change default resolution for high resolution monitor
Written by ax the 30 May 08 at 12:37. Category: Look and Feel. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
English :

Yep,
Most monitor allow resolution higher than 1024x768 and now in wide.
If Xorg detect default resolution higher than 1024x768 it should be good to set default tty resolution to 1024x768 for nice use/view.

if it was, sorry for my bad english =)

Francais :

Yep,

Take a look at my ideas
