When I put a SD card into my internal reader the card is shown instantly on the desktop.
The drive symbol on the desktop is a red SD card and not a HDD icon.
When I use the file open dialogue from within ...say gimp or OOo the card is listed but has a HDD symbol.
It would be nice to have the same SD card icon in the file-open dialogues in every GTK application.
Same applies to other flash card formats

it would be good to have a option to keep the aspect ratio of the playing movie when changing the size of the window.
by now (feisty for me) there is the option to resize to 1:2 1:1 2:1 and to set the aspect ratio but none which says "keep aspect ratio".
This should work for any aspect ratio the movie file comes with, just keep it.

in my feisty setup I have the Remote Desktop preferences but I could not figure out how to connect to my mums xubuntu gutsy installation. Has xubuntu even a remote desktop thin included? I could not find settings for it. I tried to install freeNX but somehow I failed miserably.
I would like to see a Remote Desktop/VNC solution with uses little bandwidth and works the same/in similar way in all ubuntu derivates

add a separate button to the System menu to open the Control center.
As the Control center bundles many options in the preferences it would make sense to move it out of the preferences menu.

currently when you fill out the "Title" for a new idea brainstorm will search and show "Possible duplicates" of the idea.
I suggest to split the action of submitting a new idea into three steps similar to submitting a bug in bugs.launchpad.net
enter the Title of your idea ... click create
brainstorm will show "Possible duplicates"
if not amongst the Possible duplicates you can create your own idea
By doing this the process of submitting duplicates becomes a additional check people/submitter _have_ to go through before posting new ideas

currently I have not network at home, no LAN or WLAN. This causes my Firefox to start in offline mode.
Which is a good thing, I think it makes sense. The problem is that I have a local webserver running (on this machine) and I can't connect to it via http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1. Firefox then complains about the 'offline mode'.
I think local addresses like the ones above should always be allowed as they are not dependent on the actual LAN/WLAN connection.
