Better use of "About me"
Written by Wikzo the 23 Jul 08 at 16:53. Category: Accessibility. Related to: ubuntuforums.org. New
I have always wondered what the "About me" feature is for. It is kind of nice, but I haven't seen a single place to use it. Why not use it in some programs and websites like the official Ubuntu forums and the Brainstorm site?

Add Templates folder as default
Written by Wikzo the 18 Apr 08 at 16:50. Category: Accessibility. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
A lot of people doesn't know about the Templates folder, which makes you able to right click on the desktop and select "Add new" and then choose something like an OOo document.

I am not 100% sure, but I think this folder IS NOT added by default. If it isn't, it should be, in the next Ubuntu version.

A "Mine commands" list
Written by Wikzo the 18 Apr 08 at 16:12. Category: Accessibility. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
When I learn about a new command, I often write it down in Tomboy notes.

Therefore I thought of some kind of GRAPHICAL note taker in the standard GNOME Terminal. I know you can place notes with some different commands, but it would be great with a list that you can make yourself or an default list of some of the most common ones. It could be placed in a tab or something in the Terminal windows.

It should include the command itself and a short descriptive text. It would also be great, if you then just had to click on it rather than typing it yourself.

Install the game 'Teeworlds' by default
Written by Wikzo the 27 Apr 08 at 17:59. Category: Gaming. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
I just found a very fun online platform/shooter game which runs really good in Ubuntu 7.10. Therefore I thought it would be great to have this installed by default, since many of the games in Ubuntu are kind of boring.

Game website: http://www.teeworlds.com/
How to install it: http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/04/23/teeworlds-online-2d-shooter/

Make Alltray default
Written by Wikzo the 27 Apr 08 at 20:13. Category: Look and Feel. Related to: Nothing/Others. New
Alltray is a handy program to make any application tray into your GNOME system tray.

You just press Alt F2 and write "alltray [application]".

http://alltray.sourceforge.net/
"With AllTray you can dock any application with no native tray icon (like Evolution, Thunderbird, Terminals) into the system tray. A high-light feature is that a click on the "close" button will minimize back to system tray. It works well with Gnome, KDE, XFCE 4*, Fluxbox* and WindowMaker*"

I think this should be default in Ubuntu.
