When you are activating a compiz effect, you actually don't know what will you get. So these effects (and perhaps tips for using them) can be previewed in a short flash movie so you will know what you are doing. Google Sketch Up already has something like this.

As there is almost no lightweight IDE for C++ in ubuntu (and for sure anjuta and kdevelop are not good ones!) i suuggest to add code::blocks IDE to ubuntu repositories. The project already distributes ubuntu-specific compiled versions. It also has a 6-month-release period with date-month versioning system. (like ubuntu)

While updating, actually one can not use internet because update manager uses all of bandwidth. So my idea is to provide an option (in GUI) to reduce bandwidth witch is currently using by Update Manager.

I noticed that when I want to add extra fonts in nautilus I have to type fonts://// or something in address bar. how many addresses of this type exist in nautilus? Why we can not find them at first glance?
My idea is to add these places to somewhere in appropriate place of gui of nautilus.

Already ubuntu user can connect to internet via network-manager applet, but it lacks some features:
1. There is no visual notification that indicates whether system is connected to internet or not.
2. You can not choose between dial-up connections via nm applet.

I think every one in lin applications experienced this: when you are searching some thing in a specific area, result is very amazing because it consists of all occurrences of the search term. I think it is much logical and understandable to separate help of each application.
