There is not a auto capitalization by default in open office. The only reason i don't use open office is because there is no auto capitalization function.

The Idea is to make on Database Managmnet System like Filemaker or Ms Access i know that OpenOffice have Base and Base can be use to make on easy Database, but this is not good.
I think Filemaker is on good example.
If Ubuntu want be good for company s ubuntu need on good and easy way to save edit and delete data. This must be so easy like Filemaker.
I think the best way is to use:
Database -> MySQL
User and Groups -> OpenLDAP
Frontend -> AJAX must be Developed
Backend Zope -> Pyhton with GUI must be Developed
Conector to Evolution -> Access Data , Calander Data.
With this Solution all Peaple can organise any Data like:
Foto
Contacts
CRM
Write per PyhtonScrip and OpenOffice Offer and Messages.
Make Lists
This Solution can be easy and usefull for anybody wo want to save edit and delete or organise data.
Sorry for my englishm, i hope anybody can understand by idea

I dont know if it is possible but I would like to see a "Tasks History" that shows the activities you performed on your computer in the last x number of days. Like the idea of the history pane in firefox but in this case it is a list of the things you did on your computer in the last number of days. like sent email, deleted file, installed package, etc. I think it will involve making the applications work together in someway.
This can an applet or part of the menu like recent documents. Just a sample below:
Tasks History:
Today >
Yesterday >
When you click on Today:
Today >
Sent email to someone@somewhere.com
Installed packagename
Sent to trash
Sent to trash
Opened musicfile.ogg
Opened firefox
Downloaded somefilename.jpeg
Yesterday >
It's just an idea...

Better Windows Migration.

I'd like to REALLY hold a Windows convert's hand. There's a great suggestion for a quick windows application sweep during ubuntu install, to determine the software most used on the machine by the user, and select duplicates or replacements that would work in ubuntu, install them by default and replicate the start menu/desktop shortcuts. Add in Wine for the programs that will work under wine, and use the existing apps directly off of the old windows partition under wine. Highlight the native version and have it's icon immediately by the wine app that they have been using so far. For programs that will not work under wine, auto install virtualbox, make a VM of their old Windows partition, and have a shortcut to run their old desktop directly on the new desktop. Then allow them to have the VM open automagically on the opposite side of the compiz cube, from startup if selected. Explain these options during install in the native language with brief video demonstrations.
Eventually replicate all this work for converting mac OS newbies, as well.

Add paste function in Nautilus List view RMB

Nautilus does not have elementary function "Paste" in List view if user clicks right mouse button on any item.
Why need this? User can paste files only then he clicks RMB on empty space in nautilus. But when there are much more files in folder than could fit on screen, user only can click RMB on file or folder. Then if he wants to paste any item, no "paste" menu item is displayed. User can only find "Paste" in "Edit" menu, so there also must be "Paste" item in RMB menu.

OS X-like character accents

One of the things that I think makes OS X such a well-designed operating system is how easy it is to create characters with accents. When I had to take Spanish classes for my degree, I always used a Mac to make my life easier. Windows makes it too complicated. Unfortunately, so does Linux.
The way it's done in Mac OS is that a key combination provides the accent and the next keystroke adds the letter. It's also very intuitive, for instance tildes are almost always going to be over the letter n, so to do a Spanish n-tilde as below you type Command+n, n. To do an accented e you use Command+e, e.
It really makes life sooo much easier for anyone typing these foreign characters that I think it would drastically increase the marketability of Ubuntu to the people affected (as well as students fulfilling foreign language requirements).
- Accented vocals: á é í ó ú
- Spanish ntilde: ñ
- Spanish punctuation symbols: ¡ ¿
- Euro symbols: € ¢

Confirm on delete (move to trash) - Important!

Currently, Ubuntu does not confirm when users delete. This is very bad design!
Sure, you can argue that files are moved to the trash, but that is not always the case. For example, on some filesystems (removeable NTFS partitions) items are not moved to the trash in all cases.
And, no, there is no current settings to confirm when you press the delete key on a file. You can enable "confirm_to_trash" (I think), but that does not behave as expected. It only confirms when deleting from the trash can and not when items are being deleted / moved to the trash can.
This matter is even further complicated because on some keyboards the delete key is right by the up arrow. People with these keyboards will silently delete files and wont catch it if they empty their trash without looking at every file in their trash.
This is important. Lets get on it!

External Screen (projector) content in window on main screen

I know there are already many requests for improved set up of dual screens etc., but I'd like to outline how working with an external projector could be simplified.
-In "projector mode", the (often lower resolution) content of the external screen is displayed in a fix-sized special window on the main screen.
- windows of other programs can be dragged and dropped onto this special window, are then automatically resized to fill it and their content is shown on the external screen.
- windows overlapping the special window are not shown
- mouse pointer can appear on external screen after a click inside the special window.
- Programs like OO presentation could use the remaining space on the main screen to show outline of slides and thus allow faster navigation.
Of course, I have no clue to what degree such a scenario is dependant on hardware support, but that is how I would like to use an external projector.

Allow tabs to be selected from the taskbar as if multiple windows

When multiple windows of the same type don't fit into Gnome's window list they are stacked together, so that clicking the entry brings up a menu to select the desired window.
Why not allow tabbed windows to use this feature, with a list of tabs appearing to select from? The behaviour would have to act like the current setup (switching to the window immediately) with the menu appearing only after either a delay, or a double click or some other way to not interfere with the current workflow.

Totem tabbed playlists

Edit: To make myself clear - I thought of something like this:
http://glow.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/download/Main/dump/totem%2Dtabbed%2Dmockup.p ng
I think it would be useful for Totem to not only have one single play list but rather allow for tabbed lists and a queue feature to support "nonlinear" playback.
You could be switching from podcasts to your favorite album, watch a series in the middle and return to where you stopped in your radio drama.
Cream of the crop: have Totem auto-pause playback in one tab, when starting playback in another, making it possible to resume to just where you were later on.

When reading through ideas with Orca, things show in the following order:
"Up Link Image"
29
"Down Link Image"
Idea title
Idea description
This means that someone using Orca has to read down through the description, then referse order and read back up to click on their choice of "up" or "down".
By putting the "up" and "down" after the description of the idea, it would make voting easier and less time consuming for people using Orca or any other screen reader.

Splitting menus and get them "dynamic"

If you take a look on Administration or Preferences menu, you'll get many items. This can also happen when you install a lot of programs (games as an exemple).
My idea is packages should belong to "sub types".
As an exemple, OpenArena would be a part from the "Games" -> "FPS" group
and we could add as many sub types as it would be necessary, in order that the most detailed subtype contains a few items.
When this is done, the idea is to split any menu/submenu only if there is more than [X] items in it (X set by the user). Then items won't be part of split menus when not necessary.
This operation could be done after every installation of any software.
I think we could read easier the menus this way.

Multiplataform APT.
It is possible download software for Mac OS/Windows in any machine, and to install later in machines without Internet connection. But not exists an easy option to download software for my Debian-like distros (I use Kubuntu) to install later in a computer without Internet connection.
I proposse a Web interface, because is easier to implement for any OS than to make different front-ends.
