Often when using LaTeX, special LaTeX-Packages are needed.
However there is no easy way to find the LaTeX-Package from within the Package-Management-Software. You need to know in which of the Ubuntu-Packages the LaTeX-Package is located first.
Thus an option inside the Package-Management to search for LaTeX-Packages would be really handy.
Even better would be if the package in need could be acquired from the editor of choice like a needed codec for totem.

Yes, a GUI that eases the uninstallation of windows !
* convert the whole fat/ntfs partition in extX or resize the current partition.
* update the grub list
* keep selected directories/files (move them) or create a backup of selected ones.

how many are windows'users who are afraid to lose there windows partition when they install ubuntu ? many !
I propose to reassure them with a graphical view of all partitions (like gparted/qtparted, but with a better eyecandy), and an automatic - and graphical - proposition of the 'best' partition set which keep Windows and install Ubuntu.

* Equivalent linux apps to be proposed in the installation action
yes, it's simple :
look at all programs installed in the 'program files' windows folder and
ask the user if he want to install the equivalent linux app !
(from Wubi or Desktop install) .
If someone has a special interest on something, maybe we can give him the equivalent programs of ones he use to play under Windows/MacOS.
Those specific programs may not be included in the CD/DVD but installed from internet.
