Brainstorm: change "See the first comment" to "See the 1 comment"
Written by wolfier the 29 Feb 08 at 02:58. Global category: Others. Implemented
Consistency.

Human reads by scanning and we pick up numbers way quicker than reading the entire sentence.

Please make Brainstorm web application able to kickban users writing posts with activated capslock - I'm not joking.

Block JoseGosdin in the .htaccess file.

Seriously. This shows you how scared people are of Linux rising in popularity. When someone resorts to vandalizing a website, they have to be pretty upset.

BRAINSTORM: Allow blocking certain users
Written by gavintlgold the 29 Feb 08 at 04:10. Global category: Internet & Networking. New
Perhaps a more peaceful way is to allow a "block" feature like digg's that automatically hides all of the posts from certain users. That way we can choose what we want.

"UBUNTU IS FREE AS IN FREE SPEECH AND ANARKEEE" ... if you want that, then people should also be free to choose what they want to see and what they don't want to see.

Please do this!

BRAINSTORM: Show a shorter description on lists
Written by gavintlgold the 29 Feb 08 at 04:02. Global category: Internet & Networking. New
Because of the recent horrendous spamming of looooooooooong entries of newlines that have no use and really mess up the page (the newest ideas page for example), why not either limit the description entirely, or limit what's displayed in the lists, or not allow more than say two newlines at a time?

Please implement this... this site can really be taken advantage of otherwise.

Suggestion for this site: Use a Slashdot-like discussion system for comments
Written by sci-fi guy the 29 Feb 08 at 03:03. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. New
The current setup gives spamming and baseless comments the same weight as insightful ones, and makes it difficult for many people to have a conversation discussing an idea. Slashdot's (www.slashdot.org) system for commenting on stories posted there works very well. And the code for it is open-source.
