I have heard a number of reports that USB headsets are not plug'n'play accessible. I personally have two headsets of different makes, and neither of them work properly.
If I plug a USB headset into a computer, it should route all audio (in and out) to the headset; in Ubuntu this does not happen without configuration. Windows does it flawlessly, all applications will be automatically configured, but not Ubuntu.
Users shouldn't have to resort to buying an audio-jack style headset to have easy support in Ubuntu.

Better Title: Wine-like Repository Information
Each Ubuntu release seem to render some repository packages non-functional. I've downloaded various applications / games just to have them not work on me, because they were uploaded several Ubuntu generations ago, and have since broken.
There should be a user-driven feedback system in place for all the repository packages. The feedback could be just a level of functionality (such as with Wine's bronze-gold system), or more comprehensive.
I figure the feedback displayed should be based on the current Ubuntu release, so previous feedback does not get displayed upon new Ubuntu releases. I only say this, because newer releases of Ubuntu may fix the issues with the various softwares... and this would keep the system clean.
This would let me choose between similar programs more efficiently, and save me downloading broken wares.

It would be nice if there was a GUI option for opening files that included a choice of which desktop to open it in.
For instance, if I wanted to open an Open Office document in another window besides the one currently displaying my file manager, then I could just right click and choose Open->Desktop 2. A second document in another desktop could be then opened by Open->Desktop 3, instead of switching desktops and opening, or having to move the windows to the appropriate desktop.
Not a necessary feature, but perhaps a convenient addition for those using different desktops for organizational purposes.
[No idea what category to put this in]
