Ubuntu OFFICE
Written by JasLicno the 21 Apr 10 at 00:07. Related project: OpenOffice.org Word Processor. Not an idea
This is an Idea about MY UBUNTU OFFICE (I’m giving my self right to give a name :-) )
1. LEFT SIDEBAR - In this area will be located the most used Editing tools, like: fonts, styles, colors ...

2. CENTRAL AREA - This is area is with A4 paper weight, not smaller, that will give the original, and maximum preview of the written document.

3. RIGHT SIDEBAR - Table And Picture AND FINISHING TOOLS (themes, colors, protection of the document, save as...)
About the look, it would be nice to have more color themes to chose. Transparency of the sidebars (2. area will not be practical to make it transparent).
Arranging the icons ant tools this way is more practical, because every notebook, pc monitors are widescreen. Open office is greeeeat, with nice tools, but it is not practical, I’m losing in the tabs, finding that I need and have SOOOO OLDFASHIONED AND NON-PRACTICAL GUI
My Ubuntu Office will start in READING MODE. It will save time on starting up the program, because not always we open the documents to edit them. The only tool that will open on startup will be EDIT BUTTON (that will activate this sidebars and work area).

FINISHING & PROTECTION OF THE DOCUMENT:
1. Marked as finished (saved) – possible editing from everyone.
2. Read & Print
3. Read only
FULL PDF SUPPORT, save as, protection, signatures… mutually print…. >

The desktop will be more useful.
Written by JasLicno the 8 Apr 10 at 19:21. Related project: Compiz. Not an idea
When you see the desktop, only thing you see are icons and one big picture. So it is not practical . . . Just to see one picture I must go eg. places/pictures/ the picture.jpg,....
So, navigating from file to file is "hard" (in every OS), more complicated will be if you open multiple files (eg. pictures) from different locations.

Solution #1: Useful desktop
Written by JasLicno the 8 Apr 10 at 19:21.
1. Change the top pane, and Design it same like web browser. Where the address will be the full location of the file or document.
2. Keep Min, Max and Close icons on the left side, so the result will be that all navigation icons will be on the left side.
3. Tabled navigation. Every document in new tab.
When is minimized it will go to bottom pane. When maximized, goes like first tab. . . so the result is : the most used files are first tabs.
4. LEFT AND RIGHT SIDEBAR
LEFT "SIDEBAR"
- PUT THE MOST USED ICONS, PLACES....
eg.
- APPLICATIONS
- PLACES
- Documents
- Music
- Pictures
- Videos
- SYSTEM
- FAVORITES
.....
On this left "sidebar" put this like big buttons
And right of them BIG white preview window (screen)
EVERYTHING IS TRANSPARENT

RIGHT SIDEBAR
CLASSIC + BIGGER WHITE WINDOW, where it will be used for: When is active chat - for chat, when not - informations about received mail, chat messages.

5 Enable More default colors for themes
6 Enable Transparency

Solution #2: Menubar
Written by Wiplash4 the 9 Apr 10 at 19:11.
Replace the Menubar in left top side (File, Edit, etc.) with Symbols. Why has no one done it before? I mean Symbols or icons are always better.
