Super-Package to make Ubuntu the most easiest possible
Written by Geeky the 18 Jul 08 at 12:06. Related project: Update manager. Already implemented
Today if you want, for example, look at (watch) all the videos sizes(formats) , you must write (type) in the terminal :

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mpegdemux gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad faad ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse lame lame-extras libfaad2-0 libmjpegtools0c2a mjpegtools sox toolame mpeg2dec a52dec mpg321 vorbis-tools libdvdcss2 libdvdnav4 mencoder mplayer mplayer-fonts mplayer-skins vlc w32codecs

It is very friendly and made for the general public !

Built what you can call Super-Package or (Meta-Package) for example for Vidéos: Super-Package : "video".
and now you must only tape in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install video
and all which is written higher will be settled, no more need to make of search(research) on internet .

Of course you can built Super-package for linked software (as do LAMP ) or all that you can imagine in the other domain .

Quite sorry for my English (i'm French),Forgive my lack of nuances !

To increase the level of open source software

Solution #1: More contributors to Ubuntu
Written by Geeky the 14 Jan 09 at 18:30.
A problem of the open source World is the lack of high level contributors .
For example: Kompozer crashes with Intrepid Ibex
(precisely with GTK 2.14) and there is only one contributor Kaze which is doing is best to solve the problem !
Canonical ought to create a Prestigious diploma which will reward the best contributors (developpers) to the open source.
Especially students and jobless people. It will help them to find a job .

Solution #2: Easier access to development.
Written by tchalvakspam the 14 Jan 09 at 18:58.
It's hard to even -find- the source of projects or lists of places to start developing projects in order to start developing them. The easier it is made to find and get into projects, then more contribution will occur.

The most stable possible version
Written by Geeky the 29 Jul 08 at 12:32. Related project: Update manager. New
When the final release of Intrepid Ibex will be ready on October 30 th.No automatic message has to appear in Synaptic or the other one.
The news will be known by information on Internet, official announcement, etc....
The only way to upgrade will be to type in a terminal:
" Sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"
So,only most motivated people, Geeks ,...Will upgrade to Intrepid Ibex .They will report the main bugs via Launchpad.
And only when the bigs Bugs will be fixed, the automatic message will appear as before. The period(delay) will be from 2 weeks to one month.
The servers will be less saturated and Ubuntu 8.10 will win in stability.
The most famous example is Mozilla who has waited for firefox version 3 upgrade in version 3.1 to propose the automatic update of version 2 for the general public.
Sorry for my English !

Useful Messagebox for the stability of Ubuntu
Written by Geeky the 15 Jul 08 at 12:31. Related project: Update manager. New
Today if you have marked of (made a cross) in the checkbox
Update repository hardy-backport .
Flash plugin-non free (Adobe version 10-01-218) will made your system unstable !It is a source of unstability and regression.
if you marked of (made a cross) in the checkbox Update repository hardy-backport, a Messagebox must appear and display the message (for example ):

"Attention reserved for the experimented users.
A more stable version will appear in some months with the new version of Ubuntu ".
(OK for installation or Exit)

So the beginners (newbies) and the others will have a very stable version of Ubuntu .

Sorry for my Englih, I hope everybody has understood what i mean

Many people are afraid to install Ubuntu because they are afraid of the tattoo (tatouage in french) of the MBR Windows if they want to make a dual-boot.
Built a program which will detect the tattoo and display a message :
"Your computer has a tattoo " or "Your computer has not a tattoo ".
PS: Sorry for my english, i hope you have understood!

Team of testers for Hardy-backport
Written by Geeky the 13 Jul 08 at 18:50. Related project: Update manager. Needs clarification
Today if you made the update ,for example, of Flash plugin-non free (Adobe version 10-01-218), the system becomes unstable : Videos close in a inconvenient way, etc.
that is unacceptable !
A team of testers (Volunteers all around the world) must be created to authorize or not the update in the repository Hardy-backport.
the updates non-free will become safer.
sorry for my english, i'm French !

Addition 14/07/08

This team of chosen volunteers (50 or 100 people ) must be experimented enough to say after one or two day of testing :
No (or yes) the system becomes too much unstable !
That can't be put in backport repository.
that's only for experimented bêta -testers who could get the new version in an another way (but not in the repository)
