Include RubyOnRails into LiveCD will provide a chance to learn a excellent programming language on great OS (just boot on CD)
Ruby on Rails is a breakthrough in lowering the barriers of entry to programming.Powerful web applications that formerly might have taken weeks or months to develop can be produced in a matter of days.

Хотелось бы иметь встроенную wine и/или программу эмуляции типа virtualbox. А также поддержку видеокамер, и переносных жёстких дисков.
I would like to have built-in wine and / or emulation software such as virtualbox. As well as support for camcorders and portable hard drives.

Esc when Ubuntu boots to see the geeky message stuff

When Ubuntu boots, you see the Ubuntu logo and a progress bar.
That is good, new users wont get scared by the geeky stuff.
But as an advanced user, sometimes I kinda would like to see whats going on, what is really happening.
So it would be nice if I could press the "Esc" key, and it would switch from graphical boot, to show the geeky text stuff on start up.
You know, stuff like:
NET: Registered protocol family 2
IP route cache hash table entries: 32768 (order: 5, 131072 bytes)
TCP established hash table entries: 131072 (order: 8, 1048576 bytes)
TCP bind hash table entries: 65536 (order: 7, 524288 bytes)
TCP: Hash tables configured (established 131072 bind 65536)
TCP reno registered

Create the most professional distribution for musicians

I'm a musician, I'm afraid of putting ubuntu studio because first of all, I would rather have the same graphical installer that the regular ubuntu has, and second of all I'm afraid of putting it because I know that it does not support VST's out of the box and I would need to install wine and wineasio and what not for it.
I think other than the general multitrack sequencers, the linux world needs actual professional CROSS-PLATFORM sequencer, and support some of the standards for the virtual instruments that have been for quite some time. Also it would be nice if someone would make a unique Virtual Instruments host like for example GarageBand which has instruments that represent a real band.
Another annoyance would be Jack. While I've used Jack myself with my older sound card, I had to do quite a bit to get it running, and also I don't see the need to have Jack as a separate application. Something like Jack could be done just like ASIO, a driver/daemon (Not an application you have to run every time you need to go low level) for low latency sound production. For example in Windows in multiple applications I just setup the different stuff and that's it, every time I want to play something I just run the sequencer or just the VSTi plugin and I can play it with all my settings like I wanted..
Solutions - Talk with Steinberg or one of the big name companies to port their software and show them that linux is a viable solution for musicians.
Or like said above - Create cross platform software (Of course targeted at linux more than others).
Anyway, hope you can get that idea into work, it would be so excellent that Ubuntu will be my main operating system.
P.S: Great site :)

Brainstorm : Students Ideas

Brainstorm is to suggest ideas but I believe that most people who vote here are end users and they are not long time Ubuntu users. So ideas representing *good good* things which end user can understand get many votes. Like "Bluetooth support should be added.". But sometimes students who are willing to add their share by working on small projects try to give some technical details but as soon as an idea goes technical, many people don't understand it, hence no votes. This gives them a bad impression. So a separate space should be provided for these kind of ideas, which will be reviewed by some experienced users only.
