Hi Brainstormers,
I would like to see better integration of on screen keyboards for tablet and touchscreen Ubuntu users.
At the moment Ubuntu is not geared towards touch screen users. Utouch and Ginn are making great progress to making ubuntu more suited to touchscreen users.
One piece of the puzzle still missing is keyboard integration.
Solution #2:
Solution #2: A mix of Android and Windows 7 style touch-keyboard.

In android, whenever focus is in a text box (or any text entering area), a keyboard will extend from the bottom of the screen.
I Windows 7, instead of appearing straight away, a semi-transparent icon appears signifying text entry is available, and when touched/clicked, the on screen keyboard appears.
I believe the best way to go about this would be to use the Windows 7 method of bringing up the keyboard, but have it anchored to the bottom of the screen so it opens and closes in the same way as Android keyboards.
This way, they Keyboard will always be in the same place meaning people can get accustomed to it always being there.

Solution #3:
