Teaching Physical Geography is mostly boring to the students. A nice tool which visualises physical geographical items would be a killer application for edubuntu.
- Earth, moon and sun to teach how seasons, day/night and the moon phases work.

hi, im from indonesia. ubuntu is a very nice open source operating system. but we here in indonesia, most of us still not very familiar with ubuntu, in school degree mostly.
the idea is what if in every ubuntu cd is also included with tutorial part of how to understand ubuntu in audio and video and with various language.
this method is very working when i try to learn windows application such as office and other application. just insert the tutorial cd into cd rom then it will run automatically in audio and video. we still need this kind of learn method because of our differentlanguage.
i think with this method will help ubuntu to spread in indonesia very fast because of windows is still very expensive os and ubuntu is free.
the windows applicatoin tutorial cd is produced by bamboomedia.com

Their is a program that shows the earth and you add different layers over it but it seems to be too inadequate. A new one should be made. Although we may not be able to get satellite images we can create a program that shows a digital earth and we can change that map settings from topographical or political. Since we have Linux in many languages we can get lots of help in creating a digital earth.
