When I'm traveling, I sometimes want to listen to music and just that. The computer is turned on and use a lot of power, when the only thing I do is listening to music.
Volume, even with it's recent advances, is still System-wide and when changed, it affects all applications. This does not give freedom to mute Music quickly to watch an online video, or turn down any annoyingly distracting sound effects that may come from an instant messenger.
Since the interface with Banshee/Rhythmbox have been put completely in the sound menu for Natty/Maverick, it lacks functionality that was in the original notification icon, such as seeking through a song and closing the player without using "file > quit"
After downloading some new episodes of a Podcast I often don't know which ones I've already listened to. It would be useful to have one column which indicates whether an episode is new or not.
I have my entire music library stored on an external drive. However, in order to actually use it in a music player I need to either permanently mount the drive or run smbmount before opening my player - ugh!
When I rip music to my computer I use the highest quality settings I can and have a large collection of FLAC files as part of my music library. The problem arises when I want to copy these to my iPod which does not accept these files. I end up having to manually convert these files to MP3 and then copy these over. I usually end up deleting these files after the transfer.
