aMSN linked to notification system
Written by Vignesh S the 3 Nov 09 at 09:48. New
Pidgin is linked to the notification system, meaning that if Pidgin is minimised or running in the tray, then any comments made by the person being chatted to will come up in the notification system. Unfortunately, aMSN does not have this ability.

Solution #1: Link aMSN to the notification
Written by Vignesh S the 3 Nov 09 at 09:48.
That way, any comments made by the person will come up in the notification system, preventing the need to open the client just to see what the other person just said.

Solution #2: Include the plugin for aMSN that does that
Written by Vignesh S the 22 Nov 09 at 10:40.
When aMSN is installed through the repositories, the plugin that links it up to the notification system should also be preconfigured and installed with aMSN as a dependancy (preferably as a .deb file or included in the aMSN package in the repositories, though any way that works will also do)

Launch applications on normal mode on Ubuntu Netbook Remix
Written by ronanlucio the 25 May 10 at 16:39. New
I have Ubuntu Netbook Remix installed on a laptop 11.6-Inches.

I'd like to use aMSN or Emesene as my IM to connect to the MSN network.

My problem is both programs open maximized.
Even resizing and closing it, next time it launchs maximized.
Even alternating to normal size (ALT-F10), chat windows still open maximized.

Solution #1: Option to launch application in normal mode.
Written by ronanlucio the 25 May 10 at 16:39.
Option 1)

Clicking with the right button on the app icons would offer options "Start in normal mode/size" / "Start maximized".

Option 2)

On "System - Preferences" would have an option "Maximized Launch applications", where would have a list of applications to launch maximized or on normal mode.
