Written by t4ggs the 14 Jan 09 at 10:43. New
If Amarok will now work in windows and mac os x, why not to make a GTK version for those of us that use GNOME??

Solution #3: Use and continue to support exaile
Written by twright the 20 Jan 09 at 17:56.
There IS a GTK media player roughly based on Amarok called exaile, it is not feature complete but it shares many of the key decisions (e.g. complete playlist based playback management) so it is the closes thing possible to a GTK version of amarok. Feel free to use, support and enjoy it.

Solution #5: Sing with Songbird
Written by loneowais the 24 Jan 09 at 04:16.
Integrate Songbird with Gnome & Use it. It's much better than Amarok. Just lacks tight integration with linux systems.

Fix it, Use it.

Banshee not as good as Amarok
Written by cringas8 the 17 Mar 11 at 09:55. Won't implement
I find Banshee is not a good media player, the program seems to sort music into hundreds of folders without asking the user.Pain for people who experienced Amarok which is in my opinion the best open source media player.Stats prove more people have download Amarok then Banshee.

Solution #1: Amarok as default Media player, not Banshee
Written by cringas8 the 17 Mar 11 at 09:55.
From past experiences I've used Amarok, and I feel this would be more of a benefit than Banshee media player.I'm sure there could be a customized Amarok, or plug-in pack for Ubuntu desktops.I think Ubuntu should have an open vote on their website for default media player.Banshee just doesn't seem good enough for such a great operating system. Also to bring back customizing the colour skin of Amarok.Much better for eye candy purposes as to comply with Ubuntu's new vision on beauty.

Solution #2: Let authors choose during install and download
Written by Akerbos the 17 Mar 11 at 12:57.
There are several competitors, e.g. Banshee, Amarok, Songbird, MPD+X, .... Let users choose what they want, there is no generally good default.

Solution #3: Support Rhythmbox just as much as Banshee
Written by ginjaninja405 the 17 Mar 11 at 16:03.
Support development in Rhythmbox just as much as in Banshee, so that those who are not convinced with the switch will be able benefit with what they had originally in 10.10.

Solution #4: Identify and fix problems with Banshee
Written by Hawke the 22 Mar 11 at 18:13.
See what usability problems people are having with Banshee (the original idea mentions a problem with Banshee’s moving files around without asking). Once they’re found, fix them.
